Myths About Grief

Some of these myths of how to respond to loss include:

  • Don't feel bad
  • Replace the loss
  • The griever needs to be left alone
  • Time heals all wounds
  • I must be strong for others
  • If I keep busy, the pain will go away

Recovery from loss is achieved by a series of small and correct choices made by the griever.

It is my job as the Advanced Certified Grief Recovery Specialist®, along with the Grief Recovery Handbook, to help you understand those steps and guide you through them.
